Outdoor Cat House “Palm Springs Meowtel”
I SPY A cat house with an open design, offering unmatched 360 degree clandestine observation possibilities for all feline sentinels! Some kitties just like to be able to always keep watch, we understand! I originally came up with this design for such an ever-vigilant kitty.
AIRY...This design can be ideal for warm climates, where the goal is to get a kitty out of the elements such as rain, but without heat building up inside an enclosed space.
...BUT STILL COZY! That said, and despite the open design, the house can still serve as a very cozy resting spot even in colder climates. The key, as always, is the placement and orientation of the house. Placed in a corner sheltered from the wind, and facing away from the prevailing wind direction, I would have no problems offering this house to a cat that won't enter a more enclosed space. Note that to reduce cross draft, the house can be ordered with solid walls (no portholes), this will significantly increase the comfort in colder / breezier placements.
LOW PROFILE & SMALL FOOTPRINT The house has a low profile, it is only 16 inches from bottom to top and thus can be fitted In quite small corners or under things, if required. If more elevation is desired, it can also be placed on an existing elevation like a bench or small table, or bricks can be placed under the feet. That said, placing on the ground will work perfectly as well for most cats. The inside of the cubby is 18 in wide, 14 in deep and 12 in high, the outside dimensions are 20.5 in wide, 21 in deep and 16 in tall.
NO ASSEMBLY NEEDED The house comes fully assembled and ready to use — just unpack & place in the desired location (and plug in the heated bed, if ordered).
OPTIONAL HEAT The house comes optionally with a pre-installed, high quality outdoor rated heated bed that fits inside the cubby perfectly (NOTE: an outdoor power outlet is required for the heated bed to operate). The heated bed has a built-in thermostat to keep it at a perfect temperature for cats and provides a gentle, very comfortable heat. The bed cover is removable and washable, additional bed covers are available.
SEALED ROOF The roof has a generous overhang to protect the inside form the rain and is coated with a light grey, durable waterproof roofing material.
QUALITY FINISH Fully weatherproofed, painted & trimmed. We can also do custom color for a small added charge, please see the FAQ.
LEAD TIME These houses are handmade to order and take ~2-3 weeks to ship.
